I accidently kill most plants and bushes (unless they have the fortune of being silk, LOL) and I REALLY wud LOVE a super hearty bush, that I can plant in a big pot on my minute patio. I wud love blooms if possible. Direct sunlite is unavoidable. Also what cud I use on it to repelle ( |
If your patio is shaded you might try growing a reblooming hydrangea such as "Endless Summer". If your patio is sunny, you might try growing one of the KnockOut roses. Both of these will need a very large container such as a half barrel size and a good quality potting mix formulated for container plants. The container must have drainage holes in the bottom. Be sure to water as needed to keep the soil evenly moist like a wrung out sponge, not sopping wet and not dried out. (You will need to check for watering any time the soil is not frozen.) Also fertilize regularly from spring through late summer. You could use a slow release granular fertilizer or a water soluble fertilizer such as 10-10-10 plus minors. Read and follow the label direction for how much to use. Unfortunately, I am not aware of any way to repel daddy long legs. Maybe it would help if you can think of them as being beneficial in that they help control more harmful insects and would not really be interested in harming you. |
