What would be a good alternative to lawn in my area which gets no rain in the summer and temp low to low 30's in the winter. I want something that needs little summer water and stays at 2-4 inches. Thanks |
I'd plant Ajuga (carpet bugle). It is drought tolerant once established and is ground hugging, except for a 2-3 week period in early summer when it sends of 4" spikes of purple-blue flowers. It's gorgeous any time of year, but especially in the early summer. Enjoy! |
