the leaves on my squash plants are hugh. Can I cut them put without hurting the growth of the squash? Also some leaves are spotted yellowish, is that d/t to lack of sunlight? |
Your plants need all the leaves they produce, so don't cut them off. Leaves are responsible for photosynthesis (converting the sun's energy into carbohydrates for the plant). Removing leaves will compromise the plant's ability to produce fruits. Yellowish spots can be a result of insect feeding or the sun magnifying water droplets, or even a fungal disease. You might want to investigate further before applying any treatment tactics. Best wishes with your garden! |
