Apples and pears are susceptible to several fungal diseases and generally need to be on a regular preventative spray schedule. Usually the spray schedule begins in the dormant stage and continues throughout the growing season: Dormant stage, spray with: Dormant oil or Lime sulfur or Liquid copper ? ? For apple only During the flowering stage, use: Pre-pink Captan3 or Mancozeb or Ferbam *No spray needed for pear Pink Captan or Mancozeb or Ferbam Petal fall Captan or Mancozeb or Ferbam Apply cover sprays to foliage until it drips off. Additional cover sprays (every 10 days as needed until Sept 1) Captan or Neem oil Be sure to follow label directions. |
