We recently bought two Bottle Palms from Home Depot. I would like to know how to prune the palm fronds without damaging the trunk or the other fronds, plus know what tools are appropriate. |
Lori, I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up! Prune the fronds after they turn brown or if they are broken by cutting them back to where they join the "neck" of the trunk. Their base connection will often be releasing and able to be pulled away from the trunk about this time or soon after that. Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon! |
