As long as your planting container is deep enough to provide support for the glads, and provides enough room for root growth, gladiolus should be perfectly happy growing on your deck. Be sure to situate the plants in full sunshine, monitor the moisture of the container (especially during the summertime), and plan to provide some support stakes for the glads when you plant the corms. Glads can sometimes become top-heavy so tie the flower stalk to the support as it grows and before flowers open.
