Rabbits (and other animals including woodchucks and deer) can damage plants severely. The best long term defense is to fence them out. However, some gardeners report success using the spray on or granular repellents labeled for the appropriate animal, read and follow the label directions for how to apply and reapply for best results. Other methods include using a pepper wax spray on the plant, or sprinkling blood meal on the soil around the plant. You may find the following information helpful as well.
