Question: I asked a question regarding deadheading ballon flowers yesterday, and I received a terrific response - THANK YOU! I forgot to ask one other question regarding balloon flowers, however. When I purchased these perennials, they had the little plastic thing stuck in the dirt that said

Answer: Your balloon flower (Platycodon) will grow in average soil in either full sun or part shade. A sunny site produces the most flowers; a site with either morning or afternoon shade will produce lush growth, but fewer flowers. What's great about these plants is that they are so adaptable!
