| It's generally recommended that cucumbers be rotated around the garden and not be planted in the same spot for 3-4 years. Cuke's are subject to disease, and those disease pathogens can stay in the soil, ready to infect the next crop. Probably that's what has happened to your second crop. To be on the safe side this year, plant a disease-resistant variety in a new garden spot. Burpee's 'Early Pride', 'Picklebush' and 'Burpee Pickler' are some of the disease tolerantvarieties available. |
