Question: I bought a majesty palm about a year ago and have it in a decortive pot on my screen porch and the tips are brown. What can i do?

Answer: Gary,

Brown tips on the fronds are usually an indication of a root problem. The most common causes are burn from a heavy application of fertilizer, dry soil conditions and soggy wet soil condition in the container. Try to keep the soil moist but make sure it drains well. Also make sure the plant is receiving adequate sunlight.
