I'm moving to Maryland in October. Shortly afterwards I want to start working on my landscape. I grew up in Florida with many kinds of trees, fruits and flowers in my lawn and I want to know what kinds of plants can survive in that climate, and what my best investment would be. What would make a good and affordable project for my wife and I?- Sincerly Daniel

To begin with, check out the following website:
http://www.hgic.umd.edu/
It is hosted by the University of Maryland and has tons of links to helpful gardening ideas and practices.

If you're going to southern Maryland, here's a website filled with additional information:
http://www.somd.com/misc/garde...

You'll learn what will and will not grow in Maryland and when to plant, prune and fertilize.

Best wishes with your move, and your new garden.
