| I bought about 7 pots of your new SunPatiens. I replanted them into large clay pots that sit out on my deck. I check and water when necessary but the blooms are wilting on 6 of the pots. They are in the sun for the most part of the day. What is going on? |
| I suspect a little transplant shock is making your new plants look puny. sunPatiens love sunshine and thrive when watered regularly. They are self-cleaning, meaning you won't have to prune off the dead flowers. The only concern with terra cotta pots is that they can heat up when sitting in direct sunshine and can literally bake the roots of your sunPatiens. If there is a way to shade the pots during the hottest parts of the day (set a chair in front, or group the pots together so they can shade one another) it will help lower the temperature of the soil inside the pot. Aside from that, keep your plants watered well and they should adapt to their new homes and make up for lost time with ample growth in a few weeks. Enjoy your new plants! |
