The leaves on parts of my mandevilla are turing yellow, does this mean too much water? too much sun? or not enough or either? or bad fertilizing?

Meredith,

Yellow leaves are either a temporary period of droughty soil or soggy wet soil. It can also mean they need a boost of nitrogen but the first two are more likely.
