The Q&A Archives: pot size

Question: I recently received a Money Tree as a house warming gift and was wondering if it needed to be repotted and if so what is a good size pot to use? thanks

Answer: Your Money Tree, Pachira aquatica, is slow growing and won't need to be repotted until you see roots coming out of the drainage holes. When that happens, it's time to repot - into the next sized pot. Don't put it into an oversized pot or the potting soil will sour before the roots have a chance to grow into it.

Best wishes with your new plant!
