The Q&A Archives: Biodegradable seed tape

Question: How can I make my own seed tapes?
Answer: I can give you a recipe for making homemade seed tape. Cut paper towels into 3/4" to 1"-wide strips, and then cut toilet tissues into similar-sized strips. Mix flour and water to make a thin paste and and lightly brush it on the paper towel strips with a pastry brush, leaving unpasted circles every 3/4 inch or so (for tiny seeds, space circles closer together). Using tweezers, place seeds in the unpasted circles, then cover the strips with the toilet tissue strips. Let the strips dry and label them. Roll them gently or fold them to store.

I hope this method works for you.
