planted in march 07 - nothing yet - what is the secret for success? can i expect anything from thes march plantings? |
Caladiums can take 4 to 6 weeks to emerge and the tubers should be planted 1 to 2 inches deep. When planting, place the knobby side up. The knobs are the tuber's eyes or buds. Tubers that are mistakenly planted upside down will grow, but they'll take longer to emerge. If soil drainage is good and temperatures above 55F, the tubers should be fine. Yours should be showing soon. If not, dig one up and see how it's doing. It should have produced root and the tuber should be firm, not mushy. Good luck with your caladiums. |
