The Q&A Archives: Window Boxes

Question: My window boxes came with liners, but no drainage holes. Would my plants do better if I drilled holes in the bottom of the boxes?

Answer: They absolutely will do better with adequate drainage holes! Poke holes in the lines, and depending upon whether or not the bottom of the box is a solid piece, you'll want to drill drainage holes in it, as well. Best wishes with your planter boxes!
