ants and snail on tomato plants - Knowledgebase Question

I have ants and snails on my tomatoplanrs and they are eating my tomatoes and other vegetables. What can I do?

Dorothy,

The ants should not be eating tomatoes as they are insect and seed feeders. Sometimes they will go into fruit during dry conditions as a source of water. If you want to control ants however most any insecticide will work. Just make sure it is labeled for use on tomatoes. For snails you might want to try a bait product such as the natural type with iron phosphate. One brand is Sluggo.
