| I purchased what I thought was a bing cherry tree. It turned out to be a rainier cherry tree. I purchased it when it was about 5' tall about 12 or 13 years ago. It blooms every year but did not produce fruit until 3 years ago. It yeilded about 10 or so cherries. Big pretty and sweet. This year it yeilded one cherry. Each year I get less and less. What is the problem. I let nature take its course. I don't bother is at all. Please help. Thanks |
| Your Rainier will need a second cherry tree in order to produce fruit; Bing and Van are good pollinizers. There may be a sweet cherry tree somewhere in your neighborhood that is supplying some cross pollination which is why you're getting a few cherries. Another tree in your yard will assure you'll get more cherries. |
