My beautiful lawn is now covered with this quick growing, furry grass. A neighbor said it is crab grass. Does the description fit and do you have a product to kill it, but not the rest of my lawn?

Tim,

A lot of grasses could fit that description. I suggest you take a sample to your County Extension Office and see if they can identify the problem and if necessary prescribe an appropriate remedy.

It is difficult to kill a grassy weed without damaging your turfgrass. There are products that will prevent the weed seeds from germinating but once the grassy weeds are up and growing you are left in most cases with just mowing them and waiting for the weeds to finish their growing season and die out until the next year.

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
