The Q&A Archives: Greenhouse Gardening

Question: I have a very large green house I would like to use. I know nothing about growing in a green house. Is there anyone that can tell me what will grow and how?

Answer: Wow! Congratulations on your new hobby! There's more to greenhouse growing than we can share in this small space. You can begin by looking in your local library for books on greenhouse growing, or even taking a class at a local community college. There are all kinds of things to consider; temperature, lighting, growing media, etc. which can be specific to certain kinds of plants. So, if you have an idea of the kinds of plants you want to grow, you can look up the cultural requirements of those plants either in books or on the internet. You might also do an internet search for specific plants. There are several non-profit groups willing to provide guidance. One is the hobby greenhouse organization.

Best wishes with your greenhouse.
