I have 'rocket' snapdragons that I left in my garden over the winter. It was so mild this winter that they survived easily. If I cut them back, can I expect them to do as well this season as they did last year? |
Snapdragons are perennial plants that are usually treated as annuals, because they're not winter-hardy in many areas. Since yours survived the winter, you can expect them to bloom before summer. New shoots should grow from the sides of the main stalkthat you plan to cut down. The lateral shoots won't be as tall as the main one was last year, but they'll still grow and blossom for you. |
