Slugs like cool, moist conditions. One of the ways I keep them at bay is by trapping them. Take a terra cotta flower pot and soak it in water. Then set the pot upside down in your garden, propping it up on one side with a small stone or stick. Slugs will crawl into the pot to hide. Every morning pick up the trap and scrape the slugs out. Reset the trap every day (be sure the pot is wet so it will attract the pests). Or, you can use Sluggo, a commercial bait available in the Home Depot garden center.

Best wishes with your garden!
