The Q&A Archives: Small hole' in plants

Question: I'm getting small hole's in all my plants outdoors. I was told to put baby powder on them. Does this really work? if it does how do I apply it?
Thank You Linda

Answer: I don't think baby powder is a good idea. It won't deter the bugs and it might clog up the pores in the leaves, preventing respiration and transpiration. This will result in suffocation of the foliage and you don't want that! First try to find the critters that are doing the damage. There are insecticides that are specific to insects and that won't harm your plants.

Best wishes with your garden!
