The tag on the plant says it may grow up to 12 feet tall and 12 feet wide. If I don't want the plant to get that tall and wide, can we cut it back and not allow it to get too big without killing it? How close can we plant them to our house?

Blue Prince holly makes an attractive hedge if it is sheared on an annual basis. Each spring you can prune it back to help maintain its size and make it thick and dense. Depending upon how small you intend to keep it, add that size plus 2-3' and plant that far from your house. You'll need the extra 2-3' for good air circulation to keep your plant healthy, and for access to your house for maintenance purposes.

Best wishes with your holly!
