| Lisa, Your lawn is being affected by some type of fungus. These are quite common in Texas this year due to all the extra rainfall. Yellow patch, summer patch and take-all patch are three possibilities. These can be treated with fungicides if you deem necessary but if the rain will let up a little the areas may begin to improve.
