I just bought a Spider plant and it has brown ends. I have it in a window but it does not receive direct light. What could be the problem? I also have a tropical plant and it too is in font of the same window. It too has brown ends but also brown stems and it is dying. Please help.

Many houseplants are sensitive to the chemicals in tap water and react adversely to dry indoor air. I would use distilled water on the plants and mist them occasionally to counteract dry indoor air. You can cut the brown tips off the spider plant to make it look more attractive.

Best wishes with your houseplants.
