The Q&A Archives: bamboo

Question: I have house plant book with me and you said that dracaena sanderana is lucky bamboo. I looked it up and it was spelled the same but it had an i in sanderana but it does not look like lucky bamboo?

Answer: Dracaena sanderiana, known as Ribbon Dracaena, lucky bamboo or sometimes Ribbon Plant, is a species of Dracaena, native to Cameroon in tropical west Africa. It is one of a group of small, shrubby species with slender stems and flexible strap-shaped leaves that grow as understory plants in rainforests. You may want to check your book again!
