| Based on your description the tree may be infested with both scale insects and mites. You could use a commercially formulated insecticidal soap or a light horticultural oil spray, read and follow the label directions. Be sure to cover the entire plant from top to bottom including the undersides of the leaves, and repeat at the intervals indicated on the label. Mites are typically treated three or four times to catch subsequent generations; scale is quite difficult to control so be vigilant in checking for reappearance. Good luck with your tangelo! |
