| We just moved from Boston to Myrtle Beach and bought a house under construction in a development which they lay the grass down soon before the completion of the house. Unfortunately, with the high temps in MB and the developers not giving much attention to the grass, we have a very unhealthy lawn. First, we have many bare/brown spots. Secondly, there are patches of different grass blade types, which I guess were created when they repatched dead areas before the house closing. My question, what do I need (fertilizer/grass seed???) to liven up our lawn to look green and all of one blade type, which is appropriate for the SC hot weather? |
| Lots of water will help your lawn green up. Water deeply once or twice a week and in the fall, fertilize with a 21-7-14. As for matching the lawn, you may have to dig some of it up and take it to a nursery or Cooperative Extension office to identify the types of grass that your builder installed. Then you can match the grass seeds to the turfgrass that you like the most. Fall is the best time to reseed. Good luck with your lawn! |
