ew have two Bradford Pear trees in our front yard. One is green and pretty, the other is brown and withered. In our neighborhood there are many healthy B.P.s but there are a small amount with the same problem that ours has. Can you tell us why this may be happening?

Rochelle,

That happens sometimes because of roots that are wrapping around the trunk of the tree just below the ground line and strangling the tree. Dig down with a hand spade about 6 inches deep to see if your tree has something strangling it and then cut away any roots or twine or whatever. If it is not too far gone you may be able to save it.
