I have purple fountain grass in 2 containers on my porch. They have both lost their purple color-the main reason I chose them-and have turned green. Their plumes are still slightly purple, but not the leaves. Any suggestions?

Based on your description I think it could be due to lack of sun. These color best when grown in full sun all day long. If they are shaded on your porch, they would turn greener. If you have a shaded spot where you want purple colored plants, you might try something like shade loving coleus or the perilla "Magilla" for example.
