There aren't any special combos and you can pretty much go with what you like. Just keep in mind that you would want to avoid planting something that gets really large and would overpower the less vigorous plants. Rosemary, bay, and lemon verbena are examples of large herbs. Most of the trailing herbs would be fine. If you have a large container you might be able to put a more upright herb in the center and trailing herbs around the sides.
