Caroline, Yellowing leaves may be due to drought or soggy wet conditions that exclude oxygen from the roots. They may also be a sign of leaf diseases if there are also brown spots on the leaves. These diseases can be controlled by a fungicide. Your Home Depot garden center folks can direct you to one for roses. Finally, the plant may be needed nitrogen.
