The Q&A Archives: citrus trees

Question: I have a navel orange tree that only produces a few blossoms a year and no fruit plus a dancy tangerine tree with no blossoms or fruit. The orange tree is growing but the dancy seems stunted. Can you advise

Answer: Charles,

Lack of blooms usually is due to insufficent light or problems that prevent good leaf health such as leaf diseases or a lack of nutrition and vigor. The roots also affect such things so soggy or dry soil conditions may be in play. I suggest you contact your County Extension Office and see if they can identify the problem and if necessary prescribe an appropriate remedy.
