The Q&A Archives: Lantanas

Question: I purchased some lantanas in May and transplanted them into nice ceramic pots on the patio.

I put rocks in the bottom of the planter and purchased some miracle grow soil.

They are nice and green and look healthy enough but they are not blooming at all like they were when I purchased them.

What am I doing wrong?

Answer: Tracy,

Lantana tend to bloom in cycles. The plants also need lots of sunlight to produce bloom buds. Make sure you are providing full sun or close to it and give them a boost of soluble fertilizer such as Miracle Gro.
