New type of Lambs Ear - Knowledgebase Question

While on a garden walk yesterday, a homeowner showed us a new type of lambs ear. It has shiny green leaves and purple flowers. She claims she got it at home depot. Is this a new type of lambs ear, or was she mistaken about the name?

The silver leafed lambs ears (Stachys) we usually see is S. byzantina and its named cultivars. There are a number of different Stachys -- with green leaves. I think S. macrantha is probably the most commonly seen but here are several examples:
