I have moles or voles that are eating my marigolds. I actually got to see one bite off part of my marigold. Sometimes it just leaves the marigold there and doesn't seem to eat it. What can I do to stop this. I have put down rat poison, poison for moles and voles, I have sprinkled red pepper on the plants and nothing seems to work. Do you have any suggestions? We even have tried to catch the animal but it is too fast. Thank you.

Mousetraps work for voles (bait with peanut butter). The only other way to keep the pests from munching on your marigolds is to cage each one in hardware cloth. It's an effective barrier until you can catch the pesky critters.
