The Q&A Archives: Fertilizer for Hibiscus

Question: An hibiscus in a pot and was wondering what kind of fertilizer to use to feed it.

Answer: Since your hibiscus is in a pot, I'd recommend feeding it with an acidified water soluable fertilizer such as Miracle-Gro, Peter's or Shultz's. Use a half-strength dilution and feed every 2-3 weeks during the growing season. This method of feeding assures you won't over-feed your plant (and burn the roots), and it provides a constant source of nutrients for your plant. Best wishes with your hibiscus!
