The Q&A Archives: help

Question: I have a bad case of crabb grass in my back yard, how do I get rid of it effectively and quickly?

Answer: Lacey,

Once crabgrass is growing in your lawn there is no product to kill it without harming the turf. There are products to apply in early spring to prevent crabgrass seeds from sprouting. However if you keep your lawn well mowed, watered and fertilized it will be dense and choke out most weeds such as crabgrass. For now I would just mow it and ignore it. It will die out with the arrival of cold weather.
