The Q&A Archives: Black spots on Basil plant

Question: I am having a problem with black spots on my basil plants. As soon as I plant them outside the black spots start appearing on the leaves and spread throughout the plant. There is no sign of any bugs just the powdery, black spots. Can I still use the basil for cooking & is there a spray that can get rid of it? Thanks for you help!

I suggest you take a sample to your County Extension Office and see if they can identify the problem and if necessary prescribe an appropriate remedy.
