Unfortunately based on the information in your question I am not able to diagnose the cause(s) for your lawn browning. There are many different possible reasons for this to happen including pest or disease problems, dog urine, dry soil, over fertilizing causing "burn" or adverse reaction to lawn chemicals or herbicides, and so on. I would suggest you work with your local Rutgers extension to try to determine the cause(s) and based on knowing that, decide how to proceed. Good luck with your lawn!
