| I have three Smoke Trees in my landscaping, two of which have been infested in early spring by a purplish/brown larve, a leaf skeltonizer, which have practically defoliated both trees and it's flowers. I sprayed Triazicide on both trees and it seems that I have controlled the larve. However, both trees have not developed any new growth. Is this stunting of growth temporary to this growing season? Will the smoke trees resume growth next season? Thanks in advance for your assistance. Thomas Martin |
| Leaf skeletonizers typically do not kill trees or shrubs; the roots have enough stored energy for the plants to leaf out on schedule next spring. Don't fertilize at this time but be sure your smoke trees are getting adequate water throughout the growing season. They should leaf out for you next spring. Best wishes with your landscape! |
