The Q&A Archives: Roses

Question: I have several rose bushes that loose all their leaves, but still continues to bloosom. What causes this? The bushes run from the old time Blush rose to several new hybrids.

Answer: Shirley,

Loss of leaves is usually due to foliage diseases or to soil moisture problems. Try to keep the soil moist but not soggy wet. Sprays of fungicides can help prevent foliage diseases from destroying the foliage and making it drop off. Look for products containing triforine or other products labeled for black spot control on roses.
