PLANTS WEBBED UP - Knowledgebase Question

I had 2 plants that had this webbing around them, and noticed they were dieing. What is causing this to happen and how can I prevent this? I threw them away.

Webbing on plants is usually a sign that spidermites have taken up residency. They like dry, dusty places so to prevent them from attacking your plants, hose the plants off with water periodically. This will discourage the pests.
