Hi, About 1.5 yrs ago I pruned my orange tree, which is about 8 yrs old and 8 ft high. Since then, I have not gotten any fruit from it. Did I kill it? The leaves are a lime green color, not very dark green. I watered it and fertilized it the same as I did prior to pruning it. Please help.... Thanks, Delroy |
There should be at least 4 flushes of new growth a year on your tree and each should be capable of producing flowers and fruit. If the leaves are a pale color, your soil may be lacking in some micronutrients or the pH may be wrong. If this is the case, it wouldn't matter if you fertilized it right on schedule; if the soil pH is too high the nutrients will be bound up and not available to the tree roots. I'd have the soil tested to see what you're working with. You may have to add iron in addition to your regular fertilizing regime. Good luck with your orange tree! |
