The tropical hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa sinensis) needs full direct sun in order to keep flowering all year. You would need to bring it indoors in the fall before temperatures drop below about 50 to 55 degrees and keep it in a very bright location. During the short days of winter, you may find that you need to use supplemental lighting to keep it bright enough for blooming.

Correct pruning will also help with continuous blooming. To prune, trim back selected branches one at a time on an ongoing basis to avoid cutting the whole plant back at once. If you trim it back overall at one time, there will be several months delay in blooming.

Finally, keep the plant well fertilized with a water soluble or slow release fertilizer such as 10-10-10 plus micronutrients. Read and follow the label directions for how much to use. I hope this helps!
