When a plant is supposed to be planted in full sun, how many hours of sun will that require? My garden gets sun from 10AM to 2PM in the summer, is that enough sun for a shrub that requires full sun?

Full sun equates to at least 8 hours of direct sun a day; partial sun means at least 4 hours of direct sun a day. Sunshine from 10 until 2 is technically a partial sun site. If you plant a sun-lover there, it may not grow well or flower well for you. It depends upon the shrub; some are more adaptable than others.
