The Q&A Archives: Sunflower Blossoms

Question: When dwarf sunflowers bloom, how long does the flower stay open and look pretty?

Answer: It depends on the weather (rain and wind can wreak havoc, and hot weather speeds up the maturing process), but I would estimate anywhere from a few days to a week. As a cut flower, they should last up to a week. If you want a steady supply of flowers, consider planting one of the branching dwarfs, like 'Teddy Bear'.
