The Q&A Archives: Stored Daffodil and Hyacinth Bulbs

Question: Yesterday, I found some daffodil and hyacinth bulbs in the basement. They were from a pot given to us last March. I forgot to plant them in the Fall. Can I plant them this spring or should I wait until this fall? They appear to be very healthy. Since they have a lot of nostalgic value I hope I can still plant them. Thank you for your help. Nicola Finlay Guelph, Ontario

Answer: I can't guarantee that they will live but try this. Keep them in a cool and dark place for now. In the spring, plant them. They might survive..
